I am an Integrative counsellor registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and a member of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
I grew up in a place where talking about feelings, setting boundaries and communicating was not normalised. Twelve years ago, I found myself moving towards breaking this cycle and studying Psychology and Counselling to understand the myriad of emotions, behaviours, and thoughts in my life. Since embarking on this journey, I have learned how I could best access and honour my inner-self and how to best relate with others.
I have worked with people from different backgrounds facing different experiences in a vast and diverse country, Brazil. Since 2018, I have worked with some of the most vulnerable people in the UK, survivors of human trafficking and refugees.
From this work, I've explored that healing happens more effectively when the social, cultural, physical, spiritual and emotional dimensions of life are considered.
My approach to therapy is considering the relationship between body&mind and interactively considering aspects of your life using talk therapy, somatic techniques, tailored psychological interventions and energetic approach. I see therapy as a process that goes beyond wanting to solve a problem. Therapy is about freedom to embrace your authentic self, understand your limits, emotions and how to relate to the environment and have a life with more awareness and autonomy.
As a therapist, I believe that everyone has the power to heal and grow from within themselves when compassion and safety are present in therapy.
